A fluffy, buttery bundt cake accompanied with fresh apples and homemade caramel sauce. This cake is the epitome of Autumn comfort food.
Apples, apples, apples everywhere! That is what I think of when I think of September. Summer is almost over and Autumn is right around the corner. Autumn is, in my opinion, the best season! Bold, warm flavors, sweaters, pumpkins, scarves, the colors, the smells, and of course the food. Comfort food is back in season!
This cake is fluffy and baking in the metal bundt pan has given it a chewy golden crust all around. The apples have been softened to a soft-butter consistency and they just melt in your mouth. Dare I even mention the Easy Homemade Caramel Sauce I made? Yes…Yes I dare.
The caramel sauce I made was so simple. Four ingredients and a little heat is all it takes to make luscious caramel. I then mixed it with the apples while they cooked. It was also in the Caramel-Butter sauce that goes over the cake after it’s cooked. Caramel all around with a fluffy vanilla inside. This cake is rich and delicious.
So, I made this cake with the intention of being able to munch on it for a few days. Well…it didn’t make it that far. About 4-hours after the cake had been out of the oven it was already gone. Not a crumb. Not a drop of caramel. The plate was practically licked clean. I got one piece then POOF! I think my hips are rejoicing for that actually. If I ate more of this cake I would weigh 500 pounds most likely.
It’s just SOOOOO good and downright addicting! So, try it. Try it now.
Anyway, to finish up, with Autumn just a few weeks away what foodie plans do you have? What’s your favorite fall comfort food?
